As such we recommend that when choosing a device to be used for TreeKeeper fieldwork it be a mobile device having Cellular Internet connectivity (via a carrier having the best coverage in your area). Keep in mind that location accuracy, no matter what device is capturing the gps signal, requires a pretty clear view of the southern sky for best pefromance. While using a mobile device connected to the Internet via cellular connection, it is recommended to leave Wi-Fi turned on which will accentuate location identification accuracy.
General location inaccuracy
Making sure Precise Location is enabled for the browser you’re using on your mobile device is an important step in making your location more accurate while using TreeKeeper
Apple devicesthis can be found in the device settings. Just go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services then find the browser you use to access TreeKeeper and make sure Precise Location is enabled.
For the Androids, touch and hold on the icon of the app you use to access TreeKeeper and tap on the App info icon ⓘ. Then tap Permissions > Location and make sure location is enabled and Use Precise Location is on.
