Sometimes you might want If you’re looking to export a set of data you have obtained by running a search, if that is the case then all you need to do is make sure you are following these next few steps.

...

If you are not already logged into Treekeeper, then do so now. After you are logged in, find the magnifying glass icon in the lower left side of the screen, this will open up the search panel.

After opening the search panel, TK8 asks you to specify your layer. If you are interested in finding Trees for instance you would choose the Site layer, for Work data you would look in either the Work Records layer or Work Orders layer etc. as an example lets say you wanted to search for Trees in Very Good Condition, you would go to the Site layer and select Species and search for Very Good under the Condition Section and hit Submit.

There are 53 sites associated with Very Good Condition on this system, this is indicated by the number in the bottom right of the screen. The searched sites will also appear as yellow sites on the map, this indicates that they have been selected.

After the search is complete, on the left-hand side of the screen click on the up/down arrows for “Data Transfer which will open up the Data Transfer Utilities page.

After clicking on Data Transfer, you then can choose your preferred method of exporting the data. In this case, I chose an Excel Download. Since you are interested only in the trees associated with a Very Good Condition, you want to download the "Map Selected" data (as opposed to the entire layer, which will download all sites for the specified layer). The map selected data the 53 trees returned from your search results. After choosing Map Selected, then click on trees.

The system will then generate you the Excel spreadsheet and ask you where on your computer to download the data.follow the steps below.

You’ll first need to be logged into Treekeeper and run a search. Once you have your search results and are ready to export, there are two methods to do so. Below will be demonstrations for each method, but before choosing a method, there are some key differences that may help you decide which you prefer.

Key Differences

Data Transfer Utilities

Data Grid

Column Names

Interface Names – columns will be the names used by TreeKeeper for column mapping during an import.

* Ideal if you intend on editing the data externally and importing the data back into TreeKeeper.

Attribute Names – columns will exactly match the attribute names in TreeKeeper.

* User friendly and good if you're sharing or presenting the data.

Species Name Format

Separate columns for botanical name and common name.

* Ideal if you intend on importing the data back into TreeKeeper as the import tool uses only the botanical name to identify the species.

Single column for botanical and common name.
