Inaccuracies while
...
connecting to the Internet via Wi-Fi
At times while working with TreeKeeper out in the field, you may have
...
a non-mobile device using an available Wi-Fi
...
signal (via mobile hotspot or otherwise) for your Internet connection. We strongly discourage
...
relying on Wi-Fi
...
for your Internet connection while in the field as this can cause inconsistencies with the locational data being used to track
...
your current location. This is due to a number of reasons including
...
different devices
...
relying on different technologies
...
/services such as using
...
an estimated location
...
based on your IP address
...
(which could be anywhere from a few to hundreds of miles away from your actual location).
As such we recommend that when choosing a device to be used for TreeKeeper work out in the field that has access to Cellular Data.

From a Home Screen got to the Settings app and navigate to Network and Internet > Internet
...
Here you should see the Wi-Fi toggle switch, tap it so that it turns grey and this will tell you that Wi-Fi is turned off

For using TreeKeeper out in the field, we recommend choosing a mobile device with Cellular connectivity (via a carrier having the best coverage in your area). Keep in mind that location accuracy, no matter what device is capturing the GPS signal, requires a pretty clear view of the southern sky for best performance. While using a mobile device connected to the Internet via cellular connection, it is recommended to leave Wi-Fi turned on which will accentuate location identification accuracy.
