Highlights
Custom Work Attributes!
Yes, they are finally here, the Custom Work Attributes! This new feature will open the door to many new possibilities with data input, workflow, and communication.
NOTE: Upon request, new custom work attributes can be added by the TreeKeeper Support Team. Please work with a support agent to get this new feature implemented in your system.
Data Input
Custom Work Attribute data types will be structured in the same way the Site Facility Custom Attribute types:
Species
Number
Yes/No
List
String
Date
Documents/Photos
Yes, you read that right! Species can now be added to a Work Record. Imagine the possibilities! For example, you can use the Species List to assign a tree that needs to be planted within a Work Record. Contractors will be able to add the Tree or Shrub Species that is planted along with any other relevant data.
If you have added a Work Record to a site in the past, and the site information has changed, then you can use a numeric type attribute in the Work Record to revise the measurements. The Site Species, DBH, and Condition are stamped into the Work Record upon creation. But now, you will be able to use fields like “DBH Revised”, “Crown Size”, “Height”, etc. if the size of the tree has changed since Work Record Creation. If a Work Record for Planting in a tree grate or vacant area is added, you can use a numeric work attribute to specify the expected measurements of the new tree.
The Yes/No attributes will work perfectly for QC work and data validation. It can also be used for approval of work.
We all know and love list type custom attributes. The list type work attributes will offer a nice structured approach to record data.
Missing Pre Work and Post Work Comments? Well, suffer the heartache no more! Feel free to include the old yet adored Pre Work and Post Work Comments as new custom work attributes using the string type.
Have you ever felt like Requested/Scheduled/Completed dates don’t fit your workflow? The new date type attribute will offer endless possibilities of dates to record within a Work Record. You can use it for a plant date, or for a work approval date.
The document type for custom work attributes will allow you to label and organize your documents or photos within the Work Record.
Workflow
Say hello to a new workflow! With custom work attributes, the options have expanded to accommodate for different workflows. Please get in contact with your support agent to work out the best solution for your TreeKeeper system.
Communication
Along with the new Work Comments, the new Custom Work Attributes will serve to improve communication on the Administrative side and with Contractors, Vendors, and in-house field workers. As mentioned before, using the different data types will give the same possibilities that the site information brings, yet without affecting any inventory data.
Custom Work in the Grid!
For those of you that rely on the grid, you will be happy to know that the Custom Work Attributes are included! This means that the new attributes are viewable in the Data Grid Work tab, and they can be exported using the Export tools in the Data Grid menu.
