Managing Columns

In the data table, there are default fields that are visible. These can be reordered, added to, revised and removed.

In the menu in the upper right, we can open a dropdown to select/deselect which columns we would like to see. Additionally, we can use the arrow in the column title to both sorts, hide, or move the column around.

Managing Columns

To add or remove fields from the data table, start by clicking the the menu icon (blue star) in the top-right corner. This will reveal a list where you can choose which the columns to display in the data table by clicking on the attribute name itself.

Columns can also be sorted by clicking the arrow in the column heading and choosing the sort direction. In the data grid only, that same dropdown also includes options to pin that field to the left or right of the grid.

To resize columns, place your cursor on an edge of the column you want to resize and you will see the cursor change. You can then click and drag the border to the desired size.

Sorting

You can sort the data in columns by either clicking on the column title or opening the column menu and choosing one of the sort options. There are two different sort styles available.

Basic - By clicking on the column title, we can automatically sort it. Clicking again will sort it in a reverse manner, and a third time will remove the sort.

Multi - Using the column menu, we can also select a sort. With this option, after a column has been sorted, we can select another column's menu and also sort based on that. The order they are sorted will be denoted by a small number next to the arrow.

Clearing Sorts - You can remove sorts using the column menu, or through the table menu option ‘Clear All Sorts’.

Filters

One of the useful functions of the data table is the ability to filter data. In order to do so, filters must first be toggled on using the utility button if they are not present.

Filters allow us to enter values to narrow down the available data in the table.

We know filters have been applied, and multiple can be applied, when they are surrounded by a box. Values written that are not boxed have not been applied.

Removing/Clearing Filters - In the table menu, we can choose ‘Clear All Filters’, or if we’re only looking to remove one value, we can click the 'x' in the box next to the value itself.
