URL

Is A Tree?

This field is important for tree benefits to understand if it should attempt to calculate benefits for the value.

Is A Palm?

Tree Benefits calculate a bit differently for palm trees, so it’s important to note if it is or not.

such as a vacant planting site, park bench, or another asset. Either way, these are all required fields. See the image above for an example of adding a red maple to your list.

Tree Type

This designates what type of species you are adding. You will choose one of the following: Tree, Palm, Shrub, Other, Stump, Vacant, Obsolete. While most of these values are self-explanatory, “Other” would represent a non-tree value such as if you added “Park Bench”, while “Obsolete” should be chosen for retired vacant sites in which you’d like to retain historical information, but do not want to plant a tree in the future.

TreeKeeper’s default style for your data layer uses tree type to determine the color of the sites.

i-Tree Eco Species

If Tree, Palm, or Shrub are chosen for Tree Type, this field will appear. The species chosen here determines what species is used in the i-Tree Eco Benefits calculation for any site assigned this species.

ISA Guide Plant Appraisal 10th Edition Values

If Tree, Palm, or Shrub are chosen for Tree Type, these optional fields will appear. Values entered here are used to calculate estimated tree valuations. More information on valuations and the associated fields can be found here: Tree Valuations.
