Downloading/Exporting Data from a Search
If you’re looking to export a set of data obtained by running a search, follow the steps below.
You’ll first need to be logged into Treekeeper and run a search. Once you have your search results and are ready to export, there are two methods to do so. Below will be demonstrations for each method, but before choosing a method, there are some key differences that may help you decide which you prefer.
Key Differences
| Download from Data Transfer Utilities | Export from Data Grid * User friendly and best for sharing or presenting the data. |
---|---|---|
Column Names | Interface Names – columns will be the names used by TreeKeeper for column mapping during an import. | Attribute Names – columns will exactly match the attribute names in TreeKeeper. |
Species Name Format | Separate columns for botanical name and common name. | Single column for botanical and common name. |
Data Transfer Utilities
Once the sites you want to download are selected, open Data Transfer Utilities using the button and you will be presented with three different formats you can download data in.
Choose your preferred format, select the Map Selected radio button, and click the Data Layer that the selected data is in. This will begin the download.
If you don’t have permission to download data (i.e. the Data Transfer tool is unavailable to you), please contact an Admin in your TreeKeeper system.
Exporting from Data Grid
Once the sites you want to export are selected, open the data grid by clicking the button in the bottom-right corner of your TreeKeeper window.
With the data grid now open, click the button and you will be presented with a few export options.

Export options
All data - will export all data associated with all of the selected sites.
Visible data - will export only the columns showing in the data grid for all of the selected sites. To customize your data grid, see Data Table Column Management.
Selected data - follows the same logic as Visible data, but will only export the sites that you queue/check-mark in the data grid.
