Filtering/Sorting in the Report Builder and Data Grid

While viewing a report or data in the Data Grid, you can sort and filter the data to see exactly what you want to see.

Filtering Data

To filter data, enter a value into the text field beneath the column title. There are two types of filters available for use: standard & advanced. You can change those filter types by clicking the dropdown arrow next to the column heading and clicking Standard Filter or Advanced Filter.

Standard

The Standard Filter displays all results where the entered value is found. For example, ‘aca' will include ‘Acacia’, ‘Jacaranda’, and 'Vacant' in the filtered data.

Advanced

The Advanced Filter displays a selection box where you can first search a string, then choose the individual values to filter on. Here you can see ‘aca’ gives you a list of values. Clicking these values will add them to the filter for the table.

Clearing Filters

You can clear any filters by clicking the menu icon in the top-right corner of the report/Data Grid and clicking Clear all filters.

Sorting Data

To sort data in a report or Data Grid, click the dropdown arrow next to the column you'd like to sort by and choose either ‘Sort Ascending’ or ‘Sort Descending’. To sort by an additional field you can follow the same steps in another column.

The sort direction is denoted by the direction of the triangle next to the column being sorted. In cases where multiple columns are being sorted, the sort order is be denoted by small numbers next to the triangle.
